Why you've failed to lose weight
In
the following lines we will enumerate some of the reasons why you cannot manage
to lose weight in spite of all your
efforts.
Low Calorie Diets
Such
a weight loss diet is doomed from the very beginning because it prevents your
body from taking its necessary amount of calories. You will not be able to lose
weight because something important is missing. The neurotransmitter called
leptin reaches the brain through the bloodstream. From the brain, leptin has
the possibility to influence certain neurons which are connected to the sense
of appetite and which are found in the hypothalamus. Its mission is very
important as it controls the quantities of fat that are stored by the body but
it also influences what we know as “hunger”. When you are striving to lose
weight, the mission of leptin is obstructed therefore all the food ingested in
excess becomes energy and is stored by the body under the form of fat.
Too
much fat for too long will cause malfunctions of leptin. Those who are striving
to lose weight are familiar with this situation called weight loss plateau. If
you have been on a weight loss diet, you know that, at first you get to lose
weight, however, after some time, your progress is less and less visible and
you end up maintaining the same level for long, even if your weight loss
endeavors are steady. Because of this weight loss plateau, most people striving
to lose weight simply give up their diet.
Restrictive Diets
A
healthy body needs proteins, fats and carbohydrates to operate accurately. When
the brain notices that fats, carbohydrates or proteins are missing, any of
them, it will adjust your metabolism, which will finally stop and this is
exactly what restrictive weight loss diets do. If you intend to lose weight in
such a manner, you will actually harm your whole system a lot. Your health will
be very much affected, although you might lose weight, but is it worth it? This
type of weight loss programs teach you to endanger your health by promoting bad
eating routines. You will not be able to maintain such a weight loss diet for
too long. Nobody could. 97% of those who tried to lose weight like this gave up
eventually and gained back more pounds than they used to have to begin with.
This is what we call a “Yo Yo Effect”, the recurrent game of weight loss and
gain, which is extremely dangerous for the body.
Low Fat Diets
For
a proper functioning the body needs fats to produce energy and fatty acids, but
also vitamins such as D, E, A or K. A remark is necessary: the body does not
produce fatty acids which is why they must be extracted from the food.
Therefore attempting to lose weight without ingesting any fats is bad. The
specialists of the Institute for Food Technologists demonstrated that the
presence of fatty acids is crucial because they prevent hair loss, ageing signs
and problems of the skin. Weight loss programs which encourage the dieter to
eat low fat products make him or her take tremendous health risks due to the
fact that the body will be unable to feed on vital substances like vitamins D,
E, A or K.
The
market has been invaded by products low in fat which they say are good if you
want to lose weight. Unfortunately, they are rich in sugar. Cakes, cookies, ice
cream, snack bars and other such foods are not at all good for your health
regardless of the fact that they are low fat or even fat-free.
A
low fat weight loss program can make you lose weight, but do you actually see
yourself eating cabbage soup again and again? Probably not, because if you want
your food to be tasty, you need to eat fat too. This type of weight loss
program is not that effective because, when you stop it, you will gain pounds
again, more pounds than you used to weigh.
Insufficient Sleep
The
human body could not survive if it were not for sleep. Through sleep, stress
hormones are cut down and the damages suffered during the day are mended.
Another possible effect of too little sleep could be obesity or at least that
is what Professor Cappuccio, member of the Warwick University has discovered.
Insufficient sleep seems to give birth to ghrelin that is a hormone which
reduces the amount of leptin produced, causing your appetite to grow. The body
needs extra calories in order to stay awake when it should be sleeping instead.
The food ingested during the hours when the body should rest is burnt with
difficulty. In conclusion, if you want to lose weight, get a good night’ sleep,
every night, this is the least you can do to keep fit and not need any of those
weight loss diets.
Feeding on Inadequate Foods
at Inadequate Hours
It
is crucial to realize that food is not an enemy of the body. It is actually the
most effective tool for burning fat. The reason why people get to be overweight
and find themselves in the situation where they have to start one of those
weight loss diets is because they usually eat inadequate categories of food
products at the most inadequate hours.
Thyroxine
is a hormone produced by the thyroid gland and its role is to increase the
metabolic rate in every cell of the body. A metabolism boost translates into
more energy, more burnt calories, in other words efficient weight loss. The
problem is that Thyroxine relies on the food we eat, but the moment of the day
is also important. In conclusion, you should try to eat quality food at the
right hours in order to fill your body with energy and lose weight! If you
manage to do that, your body will be compelled to “take care” of those fat
deposits which continually challenged you to try all those inefficient weight
loss programs in the past.
